TexSun, was completed in the Spring of 2013 to compete in the Formula Sun Grand Prix held at the Circuit of the Americas that Summer. With further modifications every year, TexSun has been racing ever since, and teaching many generations of students along the way.

TexSun was entirely designed and built by students at the University of Texas from different engineering disciplines and other majors, with the support of the University of Texas and many generous corporate partners.
The goal of a solar powered vehicle is to have the ability to drive without ever having to stop and charge. Through thoughtful planning and design, and careful energy and power management, the driver should theoretically be able to drive indefinitely.
